Woods in Draw for World Match Play

World number one Tiger Woods has been included in the draw for next week’s Accenture World Match Play in Arizona.

Woods, who uses Nike golf clubs, has not played since last June when he won his 14th major at the US Open.

He is still recovering from major knee reconstruction surgery and has yet to confirm whether he will take part in the World Match Play at a new venue, the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club at Marana. Woods has until this Friday to confirm his entry for the tournament which runs from February 25 to March 1.

Woods has been practising hard in recent weeks but the next scheduled event section of his website still has ‘to be announced’ against the World Match Play.

If Woods decides to return to competitive golf next week he would open against Australian Brendan Jones.
Dubai Desert Classic champion Rory McIlroy is piared with South African Louis Oosthuizen, who finished second in both Abu Dhabi and Qatar
.
The only all-European clash would be between Swedes Robert Karlsson and Peter Hanson, while Open and US PGA champion Padraig Harrington’s first opponent would be American Pat Perez.
