Free entrance to the McGladrey Classic, a PGA TOUR event, will be extended to both active and retired military men on its official debut presentation which will be held at the Sea Island Golf Course in Georgia’s Golden Isles, on Oct. 6-10, 2010,

“We appreciate the great sacrifices that our military personnel make to protect the safety and freedom of all Americans, and we want these men and women to have an opportunity to watch some of the greatest golfers on the PGA TOUR,” said McGladrey Classic Executive Director Mark Love.

The 9th green will accommodate the McGladrey Military Outpost which is a special hospitality station named after  the sponsor of the tournament, McGladrey. All prospective players have to do, both the active and retired members of the military, is to bring their IDs in order to gain free access to the tournament.

“It is a great honor to be able to host members of our military at the first McGladrey Classic,” said C.E. Andrews, president and chief operating officer of RSM McGladrey.

“We look forward to The McGladrey Military Outpost becoming one of the great traditions of our annual event.”

Some of the best and well-known PGA Tour professional players competing in the event will be Davis Love III, Zach Johnson, and Chris DiMarco, all members of the Team McGladrey. They will be in thick of the fight to give the contestants a taste of a real PGA Tour competition in the coming tournament.

Davis Love Foundation will be presenting the tournament, organized by pro golf player Davis Love III. The aim of the foundation is to reach out to children and their families by providing them with worthwhile and productive community centered activities like the McGladrey Classic.
