Arjun Atwal Joint Leader

Four share the lead at the end of the first day at the A&T National including Jason Day, Arjun Atwal, Joe Ogilvie and Nick Watney.

Indian Arjun Atwal endured a shaky round starting with a bogey at the first, then three birdies to make up an impressive first 33. Four birdies and two bogies on the back nine rounded up his opening day 66.
Atwal, who has the pleasure of accompanying Tiger Woods on the practice rounds, has been making the most of the opportunity
“Just everything. Just the whole work ethic to how a person who has won 71 times still works harder than any person out here when he’s home. It’s unbelievable.
“And also just he’s always helped me if I have any questions about short game or whatever it is. He’s always been there.”
Woods, who carded a 73, suffered a miserable back nine including a water shot on the 17th and a very simple birdie putt miss on the 16th.
Ogilvie enjoyed a much smoother round to take a share of the lead with just the one bogey backed up by five birdies leaving him joint first on four under, the same can be said for the American Watney who strung four back to back birdies and didn’t drop a shot all round.
The scoreboard after the first day is as follows
-4 Arjun Atwal (India)
-4 Joe Ogilvie (American)
-4 Jason Day (Australian)
-4 Nick Watney (American)
