Miguel Angel Jimenez triumphs in a three way playoff to win the Le Golf National event in Paris.

All three players finished on 11-under-par with the Spaniard having looked to blow his chance after carding a double-bogey to surrender a two-shot lead. That left both Alejandro Canizares and Francesco Molinari joint leaders with rounds of 68 and 67 respectively.

Jimenez picked up a check for 500,000 Euros which now puts him fifth in the Ryder Cup standings and also took the title of the oldest winner of Le Golf National.
After a difficult 18th first time of asking Jimenez managed to make a solid par the second time of asking with Molinari missed a 15-footer for a bogey which ended an exciting day of action in Paris and the Spaniards 17th title on the European Tour.

However Jimenez wasn’t the only golfer to struggle on the back nine, Ferrie who at one point was only a stroke off the lead dropped six shots in the final two holes and worst still was Derksen who scored a 10 at the 15th.

Englishman Westwood produced a final round of 70 to leave himself well of the pace on four under and lying in 18th place overall. Rory McIlroy finished in fourth spot after carding an impressive 66 on the final day giving him hope of being in contention for the upcoming British Open.
