Chelsea’s Fernando Torres finally got back on the right track after the 27-year-old striker netted twice in a 5-0 victory over Genk.

The goals by Raul Meireles, Salomon Kalou and Branislav Ivanovic were also instrumental in earning the victory that put Chelsea at the top of Group E.

The Spanish footballer had gone goalless in the Champions League for 875 minutes, not celebrating any goal since netting against Chelsea back when he played for Liverpool in 2009.

But it seems that Torres finally recovered his old self in the game against reigning Belgian champions Genk at Stamford Bridge where scored two goals. This double increased the tally of the £50 million striker to four in his last four games and Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas thinks that Torres regained the self- confidence which he had when he played with Liverpool.

Torres had sat out the last two Chelsea’s games in the Premier League as he was banned after receiving a red card against Swansea and the side netted eight times without him, so he reminded the Villas-Boas of himself just in time.

Though the Portuguese manager was impressed, he still insists that it is all about the team’s performance and not the individual.

However that may be, if Bayer Leverkusen beat Valencia and Chelsea win the away leg against Genk, Chelsea will earn a place in the last sixteen.
