Though there were some rumors that Sanots midfielder Neymar was considering a €53 million move to Real Madrid, the 19-year-old footballer extended his contract with the Brazilian side last week.
Though there were some rumors that Sanots midfielder Neymar was considering a €53 million move to Real Madrid, the 19-year-old footballer extended his contract with the Brazilian side last week. And, according to Santos president Luis Alvaro Ribeiro, Real should blame themselves for failing to secure the deal.
Ribeiro said that Real Madrid were arrogant and oppressive in dealing with the Brazilian footballer. Moreover, the Santos president allegedly convinced Neymar to stay by telling him that he could do everything he wanted with his hair and Jose Mourinho would have made him cut his hair.
Madrid tried to get the forward to sign with them this summer and have since expressed their wish to get a deal with Neymar in 2012.
But, regrettably for the Spanish giants, Neymar will remain with Santos until the 2014 World Cup to save his Mohawk hairstyle from Mourinho.
However, there is another side to this story. Ribeiro likes exaggerating things like he did when he declared that there was a major conspiracy among the global media to force Neymar to move to a European club. The Santos president also would like 70-year-old Pele to play in the Club World Cup so there is a certain question of credibility.
