If you wondered who is at the top of the football money list, you don’t have to wonder anymore. According to the football magazine Four Four Two, the owner of Manchester City, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahya, is believed to be even richer than Roman Ambramovich who owns Chelsea and the richest man in India, the United Kingdom and Europe, Queens Park Rangers owner Lakshmi Narayan Mittal. The stepbrother of the current President of the United Arab Emirates  is believed to be $30.9 billion rich.

Mansour’s fortune was instrumental in sending Man City to the top of the Premier League standings after years of underperforming. He has spent about $463 million dollars on the side since purchasing the club in 2008. The investment turned out to be quite fruitful – Man City got a berth to the Champions League this year and captured the FA Cup last season.

According to the British magazine, the Arsenal major stake holder, Russian businessman Alisher Usmanov, managed to beat Indian Narayan Mittal. His wealth is estimated at $19 billion. In the meantime, Mittal settled for third place with $18 billion.

Manchester United owner Malcolm Glazer is just ninth on the list with $2.3 billion though his fortune has recently increased by $170 million.

As for the football player, the top position is held by ex-England captain David Beckham thanks to his £208 million fortune. He is closely followed by Michael Owen and Rio Ferdinand.

Managers seem to have the smallest fortunes. England head coach Fabio Capello’s tops the managers’ list with just $59 million.
