Donald who is also No. 1 on the European Tour made ten birdies and two bogeys which gave him a total of 17-under 271, two shots better than American Justin Leonard. As a result, his earnings on the PGA Tour increased to $6.68 million.

However, Donald managed to turn the situation around as Simpson shot a 69 in the final round for a total of 13-under 275. The American later admitted that it was very hard to play against the top-ranked golfer.
America’s Kevin Chappell shot a 72 and tied for third with his compatriot Tom Pernice and South Korea’s Sung-Hoon Kang.
