Alejandro Canizares Leads Le National

Canizares is keeping hold of a one stroke lead at the French Open after hitting back to back rounds of 66 at Le Golf national.

The Spaniard is currently sat a 10 under par and is one clear of defending champion Martin Kaymer and still two shots clear of Derksen who was leading yesterday.

Amoung the chasers are Lee Westwood who is still struggling from a niggling calf injury that had almost caused him to sit out of this event. There had been fears of a possible blood clot but that had been cleared up after a hospital visit.

“I think I just need to ice it,” he explained. “It doesn’t hurt when I swing – I guess a little bit on the way through – but it’s the walking.
Fellow Englishman Steve Webster finished his round on a impressive 66 and find himself in fourth place at seven under.

Second Road scores are
-10 Alejandro Canizares (Spain)
-9 Martin Kaymer (Germany)
-8 Robert Jan Derkson (Holland)
-7 Steve Webster (England)
-6 Jyoti Randhawa (India)
